Would You Chase My Wig Down Poydras Street? (A friendship test.)

The most important test of friendship for me is this: Will you run after my hair if a gust of wind blows it off? I mean run as in stop traffic kind of running four blocks up Poydras on your way through the downtown wind tunnels kind of running. I mean all dressed up to see Hamilton in your new high heels with a too tight dress running. Run like my wig is a list of prescriptions your psychiatrist prescribed for you during the pandemic running. I mean run like my life depended on it running. Because sometimes that’s what it feels like to me. Like I’m going to die of absolute embarrassment if my hair blows off.
I try to remind myself “to don’t” sweat this stuff because as my friends and I age, the odds are that my $1,500 hair will end up in a pothole on the other side of town, found and upcycled as a component to a found objects mixed-media piece that may or may not wind up on the floors of NOMA. #hairasart #artashair #hairisart #myfriendsarefasterthanyours
